About the Founding Director
Bernard Hack, the founding director of NovaSolutions Consulting enjoys 35 years’ experience gained primarily in the financial business sector and is privileged in holding the positions of various directorships and executive management positions.
Throughout this period the focus was on:
- Launching turnkey collections strategic business units
- The day-to-day operational and strategic management of diverse collections portfolios (organisational and operational)
- Maintaining the financial wellbeing of the business entity ensuring the optimum use of financial and human resources
- Formulation and management of approved budgets to ensure optimum returns to shareholders, investors, and key stakeholders.
- Management of impairments, books under management, collections, and collection yields
- Formulating and implementing collections initiatives, strategies and strategic interventions or counter measures (aligned with the external environment)
- Ensuring compliance across all portfolios under management aimed at mitigating any potential, legal, financial, or reputational risk.
Key Accomplishments (during tenure of employment):
- Formulated and successfully implemented business plans (proposal) for an “in-house” collections company across all strategic business units.
- Drafting a specification/scope (successfully implemented) for a web-based tracing solution to inter alia; facilitate right party contact, determining the status of a delinquent debtor and facilitating an agreed and acceptable payment arrangement.
- Commentary and submissions on the Courts of Law Amendment Bill, (Bill 8 of 2016) and participation at the portfolio committee of Justice and Correctional Services.
- Commentary on the National Credit Amendment Bill (B30-2018-Inclusive of proposed amendment to the Regulations).
- Commentary on enabling legislation governing compliance considerations for the advancement and management of credit.
- Active participation in Applications/Declarators to; High Courts, Supreme Court of Appeal and Constitutional Court (e.g. emoluments attachment orders, statutory and common law in duplum – section 103(5) of the NCA).
- Communication and engagement with important stakeholders (magistrates, attorneys, legal counsel, debt counsellors, administrators, external debt collectors and regulatory authorities).
